Labor Day is behind us so I guess summer is coming to an end. It was such a special couple of months for our family! We didn't venture too far, just stayed near Livermore and spent a lot of quality time with friends and family.
Here are some of the highlights of my summer:
1. Weekday morning coffee at Starbucks, Target or the park with Mommy friends
2. Spending nearly the entire day watching the kids play at Kim's or my house
3. Lucy's Swim lessons at Robertson's Pool
4. Falling asleep reading "The Message"
5. Marc's Wedding
6. VBS and spending time with the Zone staff
7. Watching Nadja meet her niece
8. Celebrating Lucy's Birthday with a yummy Safeway strawberry shortcake
9. Meeting Mikenna Slavik
10. Spending time with the Asbridge women in Napa
11. Watching Brendan and Lucy play together
12. Those stuffed mushrooms at the Garlic Festival!!
13. Chris Tomlin in concert
14. watching Jim get back into riding
15. watching Lucy learn to walk
16. drinking exquisite wine with my parents-in-law who are moving to town
17. Studying the book of Daniel at church
Along with the good there has been some bad...We have friends that are going through major life challenges. It's been a surreal and learning experience for us to watch them go through adversity and see how their pain has been transformed to peace and strength as they give their worries to God. Pregnancy complications, tumors, surgeries, those are just some of the things they are facing. I feel like I've learned so much about the power of prayer this summer and I am so thankful for that gift!
