Bumble Bee was a bust :(

Lulu refused to keep it on so we had to go to outfit #2, a cute japanese kimono that Granny got her in San Francisco's Chinatown last year.

Halloween in Stonegate (our neighborhood) was a blast.  I lost count at around 68 trick-or-treaters and they kept coming for hours after that.  We finally ran out of candy and had to turn our lights off at around 8:30pm.  The excitement started early with the older kids making rounds in their golf carts and then kids from other neighborhoods started arriving.  Parents were riding their pick up trucks with the bed full of kids in costumes and others were hauling hay rides bursting with teenagers playing music in their boomboxes.

My favorite costume was this little girl dressed as a Southern Belle... so cute!! She had high heels and everything.

We put our chairs outside with our buckets of candy and enjoyed the show.  Jim took Lucy to a few houses but for the most part we stayed at our front yard.  Lulu didn't put a single candy in her mouth... instead she sorted the skittles and M&Ms by color into different cups and would tell us: "Greens, Mommy", "Reds, Daddy"... This went on and on and on.  At least we didn't have to worry about a toddler on a sugar rush.

Toddlers have a mind of their own. When the boys were two neither of them wore the costume I had planned... a mom's always got to have a back-up plan.

What a smart little girl, Lucy already knows her colors... that's fantastic!

Everything is bigger in Texas!...even the wheels on the golf carts:) Lucy looked adorable in the little red kimono...at least you had a back-up! The bumblebee was cute though, but you gotta love her spirit! Jen
